Your Layout Is the Foundation
A clear floor plan is what desk booking, visitor routing, and space planning are all built on top of. Get the zones right first.
Static Plans Go Stale
A drawing tells you where a desk is. It cannot tell you if it is occupied right now, or which room a visitor was routed to.
Vizitor Makes It Live
Vizitor turns this static layout into a live occupancy map, routing visitors to the right desk or room and tracking capacity in real time.
A floor plan is more than a drawing. Get these four things right and the layout supports the way people actually move and work.
Desk spacing
Leave at least 42 inches of clearance behind a seated desk for a person to pass comfortably. Cramped rows slow everyone down and feel worse than they measure.
Meeting room ratio
A common benchmark is one small meeting room per 8 to 10 desks. Fewer than that and rooms get booked solid; more and you are paying rent for empty space.
Circulation paths
Keep a clear route from the entrance to reception, restrooms, and exits that does not cut through desk clusters. This matters for daily flow and for emergency evacuation.
Zoning by function
Group loud zones (kitchen, open collaboration) away from focus zones (quiet desks, private calls). Reception and meeting rooms near the entrance reduce visitor foot traffic deep into the office.
